La gastronomía ancestral y su influencia en el turismo cultural de la parroquia urbana Puerto López, provincia de Manabí.

Abstract

The urban parish of Puerto Lopez has a great touristic and cultural value, being the ancestral gastronomic resource an opportunity to take advantage of the promotion of cultural tourism in the locality. The purpose of this work was to determine the influence of ancestral gastronomy on cultural tourism in the urban parish of Puerto López, province of Manabí, in order to propose strategic actions to strengthen sustainable tourism development in the locality. The methodology used in the research is of mixed approach, with field and bibliographic modality; of descriptive type, developing the inductive, deductive and analytical methods, we worked with the survey and interview techniques by means of the questionnaire instrument, with a probabilistic sample of 370 inhabitants of the place under study and 4 food establishments. The general results showed that all respondents would be willing to visit a destination for the tasting of ancestral food, and also agreed on the need to highlight the ancestral gastronomy in the parish as an essential part of the revitalization of cultural tourism. They conclude that ancestral gastronomy influences cultural tourism in the urban parish of Puerto López, through the strengthening of tourism products, the conservation of cultural identity and the exploitation of the resources available in this locality.
