Abstract: The present investigation was developed with the purpose of verifying the effectiveness of the use of an organic fertilizer such as biocompost, through various doses applied to the cultivation of pepper (Capsicum annum L.) Mirella variety, from its germination phase to its productive phase, complemented with the appropriate cultural work, so as not to invade its organic approach and not affect certain areas with the use of chemicals, carried out in the El Carmen canton, belonging to the province of Manabí, whose geographical location is 245 meters above sea level, a latitude 0° 16' 00" S and 79° 26' 00" W longitude, with an isothermal climate, with an average temperature of 23°C and precipitation around 2 400 mm. The experimental work was carried out in an area of 356m2, made up of 20 experimental units of 10.5m2, whose extension covered 4.00m in width and 2.60m in length with 6 random plants being evaluated. The methodology used for its determination was Tukey's test at 5% significance, with a completely randomized block design (DBCA), where all the variables were subjected to analysis of variance (ADEVA). According to the results issued, ADEVA establishes that the control (0 g plant-1) does not contain biocompost, obtained the highest average in the plant height variable during the first estimated month. The doses of biocompost applied to the soil of the plants do not influence the number of fruits found on each plant. In the fruit diameter variable, according to the statistical analysis, no significant differences (p > 0.05) were found between the mean of the collected treatments. Regarding the average yield among all the treatments applied, it achieved 2 094.92 kg7ha-1, determining that the pepper crop (Capsicum annum L.) variety Mirella did not present significant differences (p > 0.05) between the average of the treatments, this shows that the use of biocompost does not influence the final yield of the pepper crop.
