Abstract: The objective of this research was to evaluate alternatives for the control of the black boll weevil (Cosmopolites sordidus) in the Barraganete banana crop (Musa AAB) during the summer season. 80 experimental units were evaluated in a complete randomized design with 5 treatments: T1 (Pineapple), T2 (Passion fruit), T3 (Ripe), T4 (Molasses), T5 (Pheromone); the number of weevils captured, number of black and striped weevils captured, capture efficiency and production costs were measured. The results showed that the highest number of captured adults of black weevils was obtained with T3 (Attractant: Mature) with 46,59 individuals in 45 days, being superior to the other treatments evaluated. The mature attractant was the most efficient in capturing adults of the black palm weevil (Cosmopolites sordidus) with 51,16%. The production cost of the traps with the mature attractant was the most economical with a value of $ 1,22 USD.
