Abstract: The following research was carried out in the canton of El Carmen, province of Manabí, through the Agricultural Engineering career of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, El Carmen extension, with the objective of evaluating the effect of Trichobiol in the control of banana crop nematodes (Musa AAB), for which a completely randomized block design (DBCA) was established with three treatments and three replications; The mean obtained in each treatment was analyzed and compared with Tukey's test with 5% probability; the treatments consisted of three types of crops (elite plants, established crop and chives) while the data taken were the percentage of healthy and infected roots and the number and genus of nematodes present in the roots. The results analyzed in the statistical program InfoStat determined that there were no significant differences (p > 0.05) in the application of trichobiol in the different types of crops, determining that these have no effect on the control of nematodes in the roots of the plantain crop; The nematodes of the genus Radopholus similis were found in greater numbers in the roots of the plants, while those of the genus Pratylenchus were only found in the chives.
Description: Se desarrolló la siguiente investigación ubicada en el cantón El Carmen provincia de Manabí, a través de la carrera de Ingeniería Agropecuaria de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí extensión El Carmen, con el objetivo de evaluar el efecto del Trichobiol en el control de nemátodos del cultivo de plátano (Musa AAB), para lo cual se estableció un diseño de bloques completamente al Azar (DBCA) con tres tratamientos y 3 repeticiones; la media obtenida en cada tratamiento fue analizada y comparada con la prueba de Tukey al 5% de probabilidad; los tratamientos consistieron en tres tipos de cultivos (plantas élites, cultivo establecido y cebollines) mientras que los datos tomados fueron el porcentaje de raíces sanas e infectadas y el número y género de nemátodos presentes en las raíces.
