Abstract: The present investigation had the objective to evaluating the edaphic fertilization in abaca (Musa textilis) plants in the dry season. A completely randomized block design (DBCA) was applied, consisting of 16 plots of 20 by 20 meters, 4 treatments and 4 repetitions. The treatments used were: T1 (Fertibanano), T2 (Mezclafix), T3 (Yaramila) and T4 (Control). The investigation lasted 90 days where the variables were measured: height increase of the plant, perimeter of the pseudostem and number of returns. For the statistical analysis, the Tukey test (P ≤ 0.05) of probability was used. The main findings show that with the height increase of the plant T2 present the highest average perhaps had same statistical values of T1 and T3; the perimeter increase of the pseudostem had the best results with T3 with similar statistical values like T2 and T4; and the number of returns did not have a significant difference. At the conclusion of the investigation it was possible to observe that soil fertilization in the dry season has positive effects on the performance of the abaca crop.
Description: La presente investigación tuvo el objeto de evaluar la fertilización edáfica en plantas de abacá (Musa textilis) en época seca. Se aplicó un diseño de bloques completamente al azar (DBCA) compuesto por 16 parcelas de 20 por 20 metros, 4 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones. Los tratamientos utilizados fueron: T1 (Fertibanano), T2 (Mezclafix), T3 (Yaramila) y T4 (Testigo). La investigación tuvo una duración de 90 días en donde se midieron las variables: incremento en altura de la planta, incremento del perímetro del pseudotallo y número de Retornos. Para el análisis estadístico se empleó la prueba de Tukey (P ≤ 0.05) de probabilidad.
