Abstract

An investigation was carried out in the province of Manabí, canton El Carmen, in the experimental farm "Rio Suma" belonging to the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí located at the following geographical coordinates: Latitude: 0°15'35"S, Longitude: -79°25'37"W and Altitude: 266 masl, with the objective of designing a biodegradable polymer for packaging based on banana pseudostem under the use of different sieves; For this, a Latin quare experimental design (DCL) was established with 3 treatments and 3 repetitions in a total of 9 experimental units (the treatments corresponded to the three sieves used), the mean obtained between the treatments was compared with the significance test of Tukey with 5% chance. The results analyzed showed that the treatments did not have significant differences (p > 0.05) in terms of permeability, however, statistical differences were found in the other variables studied (p < 0.05); among the resistance results, it was determined that the 200 sieve that corresponds to a particle size of 74 (μm) reached the highest value with a level of 10.88 while for hardness the 65 sieve with a 210 (μm) particle ) presented the highest value in this parameter with 70.75 and for elongation the treatment with the 200 sieve with a 74 (μm) particle had the highest value with an average value of 19.53.
