Productividad por unidad de área de pastos Megathyrsus maximus y Brachiaria sp. usando Pastoreo Racional Voisin en el trópico húmedo.

Abstract

Voisin Rational Grazing (PRV) emerges as a sustainable alternative that makes rational use of all available resources and the integration of all existing knowledge, tools, theories and laws about forage production and animal production. The objective of the research was to look for productivity per area of Megathyrsus maximus and Brachiaria sp. using PRV with goats in the humid tropics. The research was carried out within the facilities of the experimental farm of the Uleam Extension "El Carmen" in a total area of 2220.14 m2 with a total stocking rate of 12 goats. Two treatments were established T1: Megathyrsus maximus + PRV, T2: Brachiaria sp. + PRV where productivity per square metre, days of recovery and the remainder were measured under humid tropical conditions, during the dry season of 2022. The results show that for the variable production of fresh forage/m2 there are significant differences (p= 0.0068) where the Brachiaria sp grass showed the lowest average (0.88 kg) with the highest production of green forage/m2 in the Megathyrsus maximus grass (1.18 kg). For the variable days of restauration of the paddocks, the Brachiaria sp grass reflected the highest average (67.45 d) and the lowest rest time in the Megathyrsus maximus grass (55.55 d). Significant differences (p= 0.0036) were observed for the remnant variable with the lowest average (0.22 kg) in the Brachiaria grass and the highest remnant in the Megathyrsus maximus grass (0.37 kg).
