Adecuación y Montaje del espacio de pastoreo para vacunos en el Centro de gestión, innovación y transferencia de conocimiento “Finca Tigrillo” de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí.

Abstract

This integrating project consisted of the adaptation and assembly of one hectare for grazing space in the Center for management, innovation and knowledge transfer "Finca Tigrillo" of the Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí University, it was carried out through arduous field work, which was based on making an enclosure with posts of guayacán (Guaiacum officinale), galvanized barbed wire, and staples; as an aid to grazing systems. These conventional fence systems are very beneficial in therural area of the canton and the province, with the bjective of not allowing cattle to leave their grazing space, this method will not only allow the academic mechanism to comply with related conservation practices with the use of natural resources, but also to the improvement of the livestock production system and animal welfare, thereby being able to solve future problems in the different spaces with grazing systems that are under study, and especially the silvopastoral system, that which combines cattle, grass and trees interact with each other and allowing the trees to act beneficially on the pastures and animals, the study area has an acceptable density of trees, which should have control of the tree species that are established on the surface.
