Abstract: Reproduction in pigs has been regularly handled in a traditional format for a long time, the sector being affected by various factors (social, economic, environmental, among others) due to its rusticity, limiting the ability to improve productivity. Over time, innovations capable of providing space and an adequate environment for the comfort of pigs have been developed. In the particular case of pigs that are intended for reproduction, it is necessary to continually adapt improvements in order to address or influence the quality of life of producers and the production chain. The system called deep aerial bed has emerged due to the various investigations that have been carried out with important scientific results in the technical and economic aspects, based on the use of environmental materials such as bamboo cane, rice husks, among others; it even helps the environment due to the limitation of negative factors in the facilities such as:flooding, insect proliferation, animal stress, athologies and death. The methodologies used were empirical and theoretical based, with the aim of implementing livestock vernacular architecture, since this covers the issue of sustainability and innovation in the design of an infrastructure, where the producer generally has the raw material. reducing implementation costs. Thus, the deep aerial bed turns out to be an innovative design, promoting reproductive animal safety, supporting various factors such as feed conversion, health and animal performance.
