Caracterización de unidades de producción agropecuaria de la Parroquia Ricaurte del Cantón Chone.

Abstract

The objective of this research project was to characterize agricultural production units in the Ricaurte Parish of the Chone Canton, where surveys were carried out aimed at producers from the Garrapata, Agua Blanca and Rio Santo communities, in order to formulate a proposal based on the results obtained, to obtain detailed information on the UPA's, and thus establish future strategies from the academy, linkage and research to help solve the weaknesses or threats that afflict local producers. The methodology used during the development of this work was based on the application of different methods and techniques, among which the following stand out: observation and survey. During the process of this investigation, the following procedure was complied with: firstly, the search for conceptual support was carried out, to then venture into field research, where a survey form was used, which was applied to a sample of 50 UPA's from the Ricaurte parish. In the second instance, the analysis of the results obtained with the application of surveys to the producers in the communes of the Ricaurte parish of the Chone canton was carried out, where the main ones that were reached are: the majority of the agricultural production units in the Ricaurte parish do not give added value to their production, ¨no¨ gives 84% and ¨yes¨ 16%; the main activities to which it is dedicated are: ¨both¨ with 44%, ¨agricultural¨ 32% and finally ¨livestock¨ with 24%. It is concluded that the main problems that affect the agricultural production of the Rio Santo, Garrapata and Agua Blanca communities of the Ricaurte parish are the lack of technical knowledge to implement irrigation systems, there is no modernization in terms of machinery in most of the farms, difficulty of accessibility to the farms in winter times.
