Manejo odontopediátrico en paciente con luxación extrusiva

Abstract

Alveolar-dental traumatisms are one of the most common causes for which patients with primary dentition go to the dental office, being a difficult problem to prevent due to age and the reason for the accident. Extrusive luxation is when the tooth is partially and axially dislocated out of the alveolus causing abundant gingival bleeding and mobility of the affected tooth. This trauma can occur in a mild, moderate or severe form, the latter being the most difficult to manage, depending on different factors such as the age of the patient, the root development of the tooth and, above all, the time that elapses between the moment of trauma and visits to the dentist. For this reason, the treatment will depend on the severity of the trauma and the agility of the dentist or pediatric dentist to treat this type of complication.
