Abstract

The thesis focuses on the implementation of an Occupational Health and Safety Management System for the Hygiene Department of the GAD Manta. The introduction describes the importance of occupational health and safety in the workplace, the benefits of implementing a management system, and the investigative background related to the ISO 45001 standard. The theoretical framework covers topics such as occupational health and safety, the ISO 45001 standard, risk management, and continuous improvement. A detailed description of the Hygiene Department of the GAD Manta, its functions, and objectives is also presented. The methodology explains the process of implementing the Occupational Health and Safety Management System, including hazard identification and risk assessment, goal and objective definition, policy and procedure development, personnel training, and performance measurement. The results show the achievements obtained during the implementation of the system, such as hazard identification and risk assessment, goal and objective definition, policy and procedure development, personnel training, and performance measurement.

Finally, the conclusions emphasize the importance of implementing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System in the Hygiene Department of the GAD Manta, the benefits obtained, and recommendations for continuous improvement of the system. Emphasis is placed on the importance of the participation and commitment of all personnel in the implementation and maintenance of the management system
