| Abstract: | The objective of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the Löe & Silness indicator when diagnosing gingival disease and at what stage it is. Taking into account first the characteristics of an apparently healthy gum in order to identify the signs of an already compromised gum such as redness, excessive bleeding and bleeding. A thorough systematic review of the literature was carried out with a descriptive approach by searching different databases such as: Scielo, MEDLINE, LILACS and PubMed. 180 articles were found and using the systematic review protocol diagram it was decided to choose 20 articles that have used the Löe & Silness indicator as a result method. As a result, this index is a valuable and highly relevant tool in most cases for obtaining a qualitative and quantitative result regarding gingival disease. |
| Description: | El objetivo de esta investigación es lograr analizar la eficacia del indicador Löe & Silness al momento de diagnosticar la enfermedad gingival y en qué etapa se encuentra la misma. Teniendo en cuenta primero las características propias de una encía aparentemente sana para así lograr identificar los signos de una encía ya comprometida como son el enrojecimiento, hinchazón y sangrado. Se efectuó una profunda revisión sistemática de la literatura con un enfoque descriptivo mediante la búsqueda en diferentes bases de datos como: Scielo, MEDLINE, LILACS y PubMed. Se encontraron 180 artículos y mediante el diagrama de protocolo de revisión sistemática se optó por escoger 20 artículos que han utilizado el indicador Löe & Silness como método de resultado. Teniendo como resultado que este índice es una herramienta valiosa y de gran relevancia en la mayoría de los casos para la obtención de un resultado cualitativa y cuantitativa respecto a la enfermedad gingival. |
