Análisis de los vacíos urbanos para evitar el deterioro de la cohesión social en la parroquia Manta.

Abstract

The presence of notable urban voids (vacant land, disused or abandoned buildings) in the public domain located in the consolidated area of the Manta parish, which have been identified in this investigation as void due to abandonment or void due to demolition. When these abandoned spaces without function or activity are generated, insecurity and deterioration of urban life in the neighborhoods and sectors where these voids are located are presented as a consequence in the environment, influencing social interaction also due to the lack of spaces where the community is allowed to interact. With the identification and location of each empty space, the analysis was carried out in order to fully recognize the urban voids, thus developing a template that allows us to know their inactivity situation and the causes that originated these forgetful spaces, empty but full of potential opportunities for bonding activities and social interaction. Likewise, it is intended how these urban voids can be a propitious space for citizen participation. As an objective to appreciate the situation of urban voids in the Manta parish, to analyze the perception of its influence on the deterioration of social cohesion.
