Reactivación integral urbana del cantón Puerto López. (Enfoque turístico).

Abstract

This research is carried out in the canton of Puerto Lopez, province of Manabi, with a focus on the tourism sector; it is organized in three chapters that explain in detail the analysis, diagnosis and approach of an urban-architectural proposal that meets the needs of the population. This research describes the main problems of the canton through a methodology consisting of three phases: preliminary activities related to direct observation and field notes. The diagnosis is made based on the analysis of the different tourist attractions through an evaluation sheet of the place, as well as surveys of residents and tourists; together with the analysis of the territory, the last phase is structured corresponding to the synthesis of the diagnosis that is defined based on a SWOT considering social, tourist and territorial aspects. In response to these diagnoses, the Current Territorial Model (MTA) of Puerto López is established with the objective of defining the problems and potentialities of the territory. Based on this, the local development strategies for the canton are structured and established in the Desired Territorial Model (MTD), whose main proposal consists of a network of ecological hotels in the rural areas of the canton. Thus, the proposal seeks to generate a different perspective for the use of the ecosystem through tourism, providing spaces of sustainable character and integration with the natural landscape.
