Abstract: The purpose of this article is to present in a very systematic way an exhaustive analysis of the architectural spaces that presented anomalies during the Covid-19 health emergency, the case study focuses on the Delfina Torres de Concha Hospital and the IESS Basic Hospital. Belonging to the Esmeraldas canton. The information mentioned here has been compiled during the current year and in the same way, information has been documented on the highest peaks of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021. The method by which the pertinent results have been obtained has to do with an exploratory and descriptive investigation, covering the largest number of useful and feasible elements that allow us to build a verified scientific criterion that supports this investigation through its different phases. Faced with the health situation that the country experienced in 2020 and that to date still continues, the most critical areas were analyzed in terms of spatial demand of the aforementioned hospitals, which presented excessive work due to the high demand for patients. who presented serious respiratory conditions due to the Covid-19 virus, in this sense, the architectural space previously designed for a certain function was violated due to the new needs that arose from the health emergency. A contingency plan was drawn up to anticipate this type of incident and improve spatial conditions to help optimize health services in the health area.
