Abstract

Cultural heritage is transmitted to several generations since they are a part essential in the process and growth of a city, giving this identity own. The tangible and intangible heritage becomes authentic and complete, since As the years go by, it cannot return to its current state and this is where the sector community, public and private, must preserve and adapt the property. The city of Montecristi, former capital of Manabí, and the birthplace of the old Fighter General Eloy Alfaro, becomes an important factor in the future generations, characterized by their stories, traditions, customs and architecture, this is how it forms an important part of the heritage cultural, political and economic. The growth of a city must take into account the monuments architectural works built in the past, since they are works that reveal the historical growth of it, for these reasons society should not forget your roots, and value the process of modernity and technology, respecting the visual perspective of the built heritage with the modern. Within the research, the enhancement of the historic center in the architectural urban heritage that the city of Montecristi has, in based on their homes, detailing their main characteristics as a fact historical, construction, design, current state of the house based on tables pathological, and giving an alternative proposal to the municipality for the rehabilitation and appropriation of the citizen to the urban space.
