Abstract: The experimental work was carried out in a banana plantation with the Barraganete Musa AAB variety located in the canton of El Carmen, province of Manabí, at km 7 of the Sumita Pita road on the left bank, in order to evaluate the bioavailable silicon in the management of sigatoka black (Mycosphaerella fijiensis) in export banana (Musa AAB); a completely randomized block design (DBCA) was implemented where 3 doses of bioavailable silicon (0.5 – 1.0 – 1.5 kg ha- 1) plus a control were presented, giving a total of 4 treatments and four repetitions ; the control was subjected to a manual sigatoka control through phytosanitary defoliation. The results obtained determined that the levels of bioavailable silicon and the control did have an impact on the banana bunch; Regarding the days to harvest, the silicon treatments had less time to reach this task with an average of 413.04 days; For the foliar parameters, the plots in which silicon was applied obtained a greater number of leaves at flowering (8,49 leaves), however, in terms of the levels of severity of Sigatoka, the control presented the highest incidence while the treatments reached the highest range in this variable.
