Abstract: The reason for this research is to be able to determine the feasibility of marketing broilers through the nutritional supplementation of pumpkin meal. In addition to the fact that in the canton of El Carmen there are several farms that present various problems due to the fact that they do not carry out the adequate control of the feed as such, that is why it was proposed to carry out a feasibility study in which acceptability parameters areevaluated, issues of profitability thus allowing the poultry producer to have a study information, that this type of food supplementation generates an economic value to the bird. The research carried out will benefit the producers of the canton El Carmen because the use of pumpkin flour sirve as a natural substitute in the food base of the bird that will reduce costs, improve the quality of the product and increase the demand for it, this will also allow the increase of employment and improve the economy of small poultry producers in the canton El Carmen. The study material was carried out in the urban area of the canton El Carmen, as a data collection instrument, surveys and sensory evaluations were used. With these we obtained as results that 68% of the population would consume the product in case of being sold in local markets. In addition, it was shown that the pumpkin flour altered the color and flavor of the meat of the broiler chickens and a 51% profitability was obtained within the treatments used.
Description: El motivo de esta investigación es poder determinar la factibilidad que tiene la comercialización de pollos de engorde a través de la suplementación alimenticia de harina de zapallo. Además de que en el cantón El Carmen existen varias granjas que presentan diversos problemas debido a que no realizan el control adecuado del alimento como tal, es por ello por lo que se planteó realizar un estudio de factibilidad en el cual se valuaron parámetros deaceptabilidad, temas de rentabilidad permitiendo así que el productor avícola cuente con una información de estudio, de que ese tipo de suplementación alimenticia genera un valor económico al ave.
