Abstract: This experimental research was designed with the objective to evaluate the productive performance and morphological characterization of the varietal at three harvesting ages. It was carried out at the Pinar del Río farm, belonging to the Agrodimeza company, located at Km 29 of the road to Santo Domingo – Chone, in the El Carmen parish of the El Carmen canton in the north of the province of Manabí. For the effect, a completely randomized block experimental design (DBCA) was used, which consisted of three treatments with 7 repetitions; the treatments were the cutting age at 70, 80 and 90 days and the response variables: fresh and dry biomass production and dry matter content, and the morphological variables: number of leaves, leaf length, leaf width and leaf/stem ratio. In the agronomic variables, the green matter production of Clone 51 grass presented the highest record at the cutting age of 70 days with 102.36 t ha -1, between the cutting age of 50 and 60 days there were no differences. The production of green and dry matter had its highest expression at 90 days with 94.15 and 14 t ha -1, respectively, with significant differences compared to the other two cutting ages. The content of dry matter, in correlation with the production, it was obtained that at 90 days of cutting, more dry matter was accumulated than in the previous cutting ages. In the morphological variables no statistical inference was shown.
