Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of the thermal chamber on the vegetative development of plantain corms "barraganete" (Musa AAB). El Carmen, Manabí, Ecuador. A measurable or observational experiment was carried out, the thermal camera and the external environment were established as causality factors, and the sprouting time, number and height of the sprout and the number of leaves of barraganete plantain corms were measured as variables. The emergence of the first shoots occurred in the second week after planting the corms in the thermal chamber and in the external environment, reaching 95.0% and 55.0% of sprouting in week five (35 days), respectively. The effect of multiplication on leaf development was manifested in an average of 4.62 leaves per plant and 9.65 shoots per corm in the thermal camera at week 12 (84 days) and 3.62 leaves and 8, 46 outbreaks in the outdoor environment. The plants at week 12 had an average height of 35.84 cm in the chamber and 25.50 cm outside, most of them presented an adequate development to be separated and adapted to field conditions.
Description: El presente trabajo tuvo como objetivo evaluar el efecto de la cámara térmica en el desarrollo vegetativo de cormos de plátano “barraganete” (Musa AAB). El Carmen, Manabí, Ecuador. Se realizó un experimento mensurativo u observacional, se estableció como factor de causalidad la cámara térmica y el medio exterior y se midieron como variables el tiempo de brotación, número y altura del brote y el número de hojas de cormos de plátano barraganete.
