Abstract: A research work was carried out in the rural parish of San Pedro de Suma of the El Carmen canton, Manabí province, at km 1 of the Suma El Carmen road on the right bank, with the aim of evaluating the composting made based on barraganete plantain peel (Musa AAB) and balsa shavings (Ochoroma pyramidale) in Carmen Manabí; A completely randomized block design DBCA was applied with 3 treatments and 4 repetitions, the treatments consisted of proportions of banana peel in 1, 1.5 and 2 against 1 of balsa shavings, chemical parameters were evaluated in the laboratory at the end of the experiment and temperature weekly. The results obtained determined that the nitrogen content was the same in the three proportions, with an average of 1.68%, while for the percentage of matter and organic carbon the proportion 1.5: 1 presents the highest values with 26.41 and 15.32% respectively, on the contrary, for the humidity percentage the highest proportion of 2: 1 maintains the highest percentage with 47.94%; for temperature, this same proportion maintains the highest values in the last weeks starting 10 weeks after composting is established, at the end of the investigation it reaches an average temperature of 30 ° C.
Description: Se realizó un trabajo de investigación en la parroquia rural de San Pedro de Suma del cantón El Carmen provincia de Manabí, a la altura del km 1 de la vía Suma El Carmen a margen derecho, con el objetivo de evaluar el compostaje realizado a base de cáscara de plátano barraganete (Musa AAB) y viruta de balsa (Ochoroma pyramidale) en el Carmen Manabí; se aplicó un diseño de bloques completamente al azar DBCA con 3 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones, los tratamientos consistieron en proporciones de cáscara de plátano en 1, 1,5 y 2 contra 1 de viruta de balsa, se evaluaron parámetros químicas en laboratorio al finalizar el experimento y la temperatura semanalmente.
