Abstract

This investigation was carried out in the province of Manabí, for which the semen of the Manabí Creole bull was studied, in which a bibliographical review was made in which it is discussed where the Manabí Creole bull descended and where it originated. In this research, it has a descriptive analysis in knowing how good it is to cryopreserve the straws of this species in order to have a species base that for years has been lost and mixed with other genes. For this, sperm morphometry has been determined to investigate the causes and effects of having the bull's semen cryopreserved, such as motility, vitality, morphology and anomalies that the 10 straws studied have, in this we can separate them into 5 samples, two straws in each sample by taking them to the Bossgen laboratory which is located in the province of Machachi and there it was possible to demonstrate through the CASA method that the motility has a singular or sporadic movement and no mass activity with 15% being a regular motility, likewise could be evidenced by the vital staining method, when the plasma membrane has a rupture, the dead spermatozoa are shown in red, having an average of 10% of them and for sperm morphology and abnormalities we separated the 10 straws into two groups, it was evidenced by the staining method they have an average of 2.5% in the head, 5% in the middle piece and 6% in the tail, so they are the norm minor primary cities that are when they occur in the testicles.
