Abstract: The purpose of the research was to evaluate productive parameters of the Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica), using crushed flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) on meat production. Five treatments were defined (T0: 250 g of balanced, T1: 247.5 g of balanced + 2.5 g of flaxseed, T2: 245 g of balanced + 5 g of flaxseed, T3: 242.5 g of balanced + 7 .5 g of flaxseed and T4: 240 g of balanced + 10 g of flaxseed) with four replications on a completely randomized design. In addition to the production parameters (feed conversion, percentage of mortality, weight gain and carcass yield), the benefit-cost relationship was determined for each treatment. It was obtained that flaxseed did not influence feed conversion, carcass yield and weekly weight, there were no differences between treatments. At the level of benefit and cost ratio, treatment 1 (2.5 g flaxseed) was the one that had a higher value with 1; which implies that there were no economic gains or losses in said treatment.
