Abstract: The work was carried out at the Río Suma Experimental Farm of the “Eloy Alfaro” Lay University of Manabí, Extension in El Carmen, of the Agricultural Engineering career, with the objective of assessing the level of damage caused by Cosmopolites sordidus Germar in two cultivars Musa ssp with different methods of disinfection. A randomized Complete Design (DCA) was used, with six treatments, three repetitions and 18 experimental units and a factorial arrangement A x B, the factor A was the cultivars and factor B the corm disinfection methods. In cultivating Dwarf Curare, higher levels of damage were quantified, in inflorescence and harvest, Dominico Hartón did not show significant differences in any of its phenological phases. The disinfection methods used showed no effect on the level of damage of C. sordidus, nor on the vegetative and productive variables under study.
