Abstract: The present research work was carried out on farms in the canton of El Carmen-Manabí in livestock communities of La Cancha, San Pedro de Suma, El Porvenir and La Bramadora, with the objective of evaluating the costs of beef production with different management methods. bovine production in the El Carmen Manabí canton, for the development of the research, each meat production cattle farm was considered as an experimental unit, in which the results are obtained through the interview and survey for the comparison of the production costs of the different production systems, for the analysis of the results, the analysis of graphs and tables was considered through the Microsoft Excel office software. Among the results found, it was determined that most of the consulted systems have between 50 to 100 animals and spaces of up to 100 hectares; Most of them acquire their animals in neighboring farms and market them in a private company for slaughter. Among the cultural tasks, weed control is carried out to a greater extent with chemicals and only 29% of the ranchers apply fertilization; In relation to the cost of production, the intensive systems reach values of $1.71 kg-1 of meat, being the highest compared to the extensive system that barely had a value of $1.29 kg-1 meat, however, as far as Regarding productivity, the intensive systems have a greater increase in weight per month than the other productive systems.
Description: El presente trabajó de investigación se realizó en fincas del cantón el Carmen- Manabí en comunidades ganaderas de la Cancha, San Pedro de Suma, El Porvenir y La Bramadora, con el objetivo de evaluar los costos de producción de carne de res con diferentes manejos de producción bovina en el cantón El Carmen Manabí, para el desarrollo de la investigación se consideró cada finca ganadera de producción cárnica como unidad experimental, en la cual mediante la entrevista y encuesta se obtienen los resultados para la comparación de los costos de producción de los diferentes sistemas de producción, para el análisis de los resultados se consideró el análisis de gráficos y tablas mediante el programa ofimático Microsoft Excel.
