Abstract: The objective of this research was to analyze the inclusion of oil palm (Elaeis guinensis) mud in the diet of crossbred steers in a rotational grazing system at the Río Suma experimental farm belonging to the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí; two treatments were evaluated: T1 (Without palm sludge) and T2 (0,5 kg of palm sludge) weighing 475 lbs. It was concluded that the quality of nutrients contained in the oil palm sludge in DM was protein (15,50 %), ethereal extract (12,95 %), ash (11,49 %) and fiber (39,90 %). When comparing the weight by the inclusion of palm sludge in crossbred steers, statistical differences were established (p<0,01); with T2 (0,5 kg of palm sludge) being the best with 255.30 kg, which implies an efficiency of 8.44 % with respect to T1 (without palm sludge). No effect of the inclusion of palm sludge in crossbred steers on total weight gain was reported (p>0,05) over a period of 2 months. The economic analysis showed that T2 (0,5 kg of palm sludge) had the highest marginal rate of return (1,84 %), making it the most profitable from an economic point of view.
