Abstract: Reading is a substantial process for the personal development of the human being, by mastering this practice, understanding the different realities that arise in the environment will not represent any challenge, quite the contrary, the interpretation will be given immediately, becoming evident in any type of situation, The ideology of this work is that through the selection of pedagogical strategies, reading comprehension in the students of the First Year of Baccalaureate of the Fiscal Educational Unit "4 de Noviembre" will be given with greater fluency, understanding and making value judgments, essential characteristics for the development of the individual within any context, gradually eradicating the lack of reading interest that contributes to the lack of comprehensive reading of students who generally do not practice it, considering it monotonous; on the other hand, this research is based on the bibliographic design because its support is scientific taken from books, magazines, newspapers and web pages, in the same way the use of the mixed approach was considered ideal, saying that the research has qualitative and quantitative instruments, such as surveys and interviews applied to the selected population, thus collecting information current, to culminate with the elaboration of the present work that will serve as a guide for teachers who pursue that their students reach the comprehensive quality, which is a requirement to function in any area.
Description: La lectura es un proceso sustancial para el desarrollo personal del ser humano, al dominar esta práctica se puede comprender las distintas realidades que se presenten en el entorno, sin presentar ningún desafío, todo lo contrario la interpretación se dará de manera inmediata evidenciándose en cualquier tipo de situación, este trabajo tiene como ideología que mediante la selección de estrategias pedagógicas la comprensión lectora en los alumnos.
