Abstract: Spelling-related skills are extremely important for writing and personal development, since it turns out to be essential for communication and socialization. The objective of the present investigation is to create didactic strategies to strengthen the spelling of the students of the eighth year of basic education of the Educational Unit Dr. Guadalupe Larriva. The institution is located in the province of Manabí, Canton of Jaramijó, Jaramijó Parish. The research subjects that make up the sample are students in the eighth year of basic education. Once the problematic situation that defined spelling and spelling teaching strategies has been presented, the base referential framework of the study and the methodology are proposed from a qualitative descriptive approach. The results present a statistical analysis obtained from the answers to questions of an instrument designed to measure orthographic knowledge, which revealed the meager development of students' spelling. In addition, it coincided with the appreciation of the teachers that the interview showed. Therefore, the results were triangulated to verify the fulfillment of the objectives and the application of a series of strategies and activities that favor spelling was proposed.
Description: Las competencias relacionadas con la ortografía son de suma importancia para la escritura y el desarrollo personal, dado que, resulta ser fundamental para la comunicación y la socialización. El objetivo de la presente investigación es crear estrategias didácticas para fortalecer la ortografía de los estudiantes del octavo año de educación básica de la Unidad Educativa Dra. Guadalupe Larriva.
