Abstract: El Carmen is a city that has maintained a link with water since the first population settlement, where it can be seen that there is great natural potential in the two types of water sources, such as water from lagoons and rivers, natural resources that have provided particular characteristics to the urban growth of the city. The sum river is currently in poor condition due to settlements on the edge, qua a bad image of this public space generates environmental pollution, unhealthiness in the environment, also found in risk areas such as landslides and floods, therefore generates a poor quality of life for the inhabitants, through the recovery of this river, we want to propose a park with squares and open spaces that harmonize with the natural environment, with large spaces of vegetation, sports areas, services and recreation, it is also proposed to play extreme ames such as canopy, for your once again draw more attention from tourism. The research work proposes a recovery of the edge of the Suma River in the subdivision Salazar in the canton of El Carmen through an analysis and diagnosis of the sector and the canton to in turn, propose integrated projects that improve the quality of life of the inhabitants, through an integration of several projects such as recovery, conservation and repowering of public spaces of each natural water element (central lagoon, river Suma and lagoon of the Atenas neighborhood) and create a connectivity network through tree-lined roads between each of these spaces.
Description: El Carmen es una ciudad que ha mantenido un vínculo con el agua desde el primer asentamiento poblacional, donde se puede observar que existe un gran potencial natural en los dos tipos de fuente hídrica, como el agua de lagunas y ríos, recursos naturales que han otorgado características particulares al crecimiento urbano de la ciudad.
