Estudio de seguridad en la gestión de redes para despliegue de redes inalámbricas en la Universidad Laica "Eloy Alfaro" de Manabí, extensión El Carmen.

Abstract

The present study deals with very important issues on network security and wireless network deployment in order to provide a theoretical basis to determine the bandwidth problems in the laica university "Eloy Alfaro" of Manabí extension El Carmen and to propose solutions to improve the network quality. In order to determine the problem it was necessary to use some types of research, among them is the documentary that is in charge of collecting information and the field research that is based on where the problem is located, it also uses instruments that allow to get involved with those related to the object of research. The survey was applied to the sample of 184 students of the System Engineering degree of the university extension. The proposal of this investigation is to carry out an audit to the network with the objective of proposing an improvement of connection, for which it was necessary to carry out a network diagram that allowed to visualize how it is distributed in the floors of the university institution. Applying a physical and logical analysis using the PRTG tool, allowing a test of each point of connection to the switch and vice versa based on the distribution of megabit that the university has, also verifying the transmission speed. The origin of the problem found was a waste of network transmission speed, and as a solution is to make a transition of cable categories in addition to having a fixed mega distribution for wireless networks, improving the quality of network service.
