Impactos sociales, culturales y económicos del turismo de cruceros en la ciudad de Manta.

Abstract

The purpose of this research work is to analyze the social, cultural and economic impacts generated by the tourist influx coming from the cruises arrived in Manta in the 2019 period. It is a quantitative and qualitative research, using methods such as field, descriptive, exploratory and documentary film. It consists of four stages, the first presents global information on cruise tourism, evolution and characteristics. In the second stage the demand for cruises was determined, indicating that in the year 2019 there was an average of 16 tourist boats with around 28,674 passengers. In the third stage the influence of the activity in different sectors was analyzed, through investigative instruments such as interviews, surveys and observation. In the fourth stage, we carried out surveys of entities involved in this sector, to deduce how strong the social-cultural impact on Manta is. Likewise, interviews were conducted with tour operators in order to know the activities of the passengers and their behavior during their stay, in turn said information was relevant to analyze the increase and economic development. Emphasize that it was complemented with information collected in cruise ship surveys. Finally, it is concluded that Cruise Tourism impacts the tourist and economic development of the city, by not altering the daily activities of the inhabitants and generating temporary employment, becoming a sustainable tourist activity.
