El ecoturismo como estrategia de conservación y uso sostenible del cerro Montecristi.

Abstract

The Montecristi hill is part of the Portoviejo river basin, towards the northwest is the hill of leaves, with 400 meters of altitude, the Montecristi hill of 630 meters of altitude has a diversity of flora and fauna constitutes a viewpoint to the cantons Manta, Jipijapa and Jaramijó. Ecotourism is an activity that is gaining more and more strength, not only for providing great economic opportunities, but also for providing global ecological benefits. A descriptive study was carried out, with the central objective of determining strategies for the sustainable use of the Montecristi hill, the current level of ecotourism activities in the hill will be analyzed, to know the perception of the inhabitants towards the natural sensors, the tourist offer and generate sustainable use strategies on the hill based on the use of natural resources in a responsible and sustainable way. A survey of 196 people was applied to determine the perception of residents towards natural results, this questionnaire allows us to know the little information that the inhabitants have about the natural resources found in the hill, the talks and workshops that are given on this, in turn, the need to implement conservation strategies to improve the scope related to the ease of accessibility, in addition to the optimization of the dissemination and promotion of cotourism resources with the account of this location.
