Intervención del trabajador social en la promoción de roles de género equitativos en el cantón Manta, 2024.

Abstract

In the Manta city, Manabí province, the research “Social Worker Intervention in the Promotion of Gender-Equitable Roles” was conducted in 2024. This study, with a qualitative approach and hermeneutic, phenomenological, and endogenous foundations, aimed to evaluate the impact of social worker interventions on gender role perceptions, explore community participation, and analyze factors affecting the effectiveness of these interventions. Through in-depth interviews, focus groups, and document review, it was revealed that the interventions had a significant impact despite challenges such as mental health issues, diverse needs, poverty, and stigmatization. An increase in the participation of people in historically repressed groups was observed. Conclusions highlighted the importance of mixed methodological approaches, sample expansion, interdisciplinary collaboration, longitudinal studies, and the inclusion of gender perspectives at all educational stages. It was recommended to promote community participation in the design and implementation of interventions to ensure cultural relevance and adaptation to local needs, as well as to empower the community for sustained social change.
