Abstract

The present research work presents as a problem the existence of inequality in income levels and access to resources in the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood, which generates a lack of equity and opportunities for certain groups, the active participation of citizens in the decision-making Decision making and the definition of priorities for local development is scarce, which makes it difficult to identify and resolve community problems. Therefore, the general objective is to assess the aspects of local development of the Nueva Esperanza neighborhood of the City of Manta in correspondence with Good Living in Ecuador. The study was carried out using a qualitative approach from the perspective of hermeneutic phenomenology, allowing intervention in the families of the neighborhood through an interview applying a questionnaire to a sample of 8 families, the results of which showed the challenges that the families face daily. inhabitants of the sector, proposing strategies and programs to address these problems, concluding that Social Workers are essential actors in the implementation of Good Living policies and in the promotion of sustainable local development. Its comprehensive intervention in areas such as social protection, education, community health, economic development, community participation and the improvement of housing and basic services contributes significantly to the well-being and growth of local communities.
