Abstract: This study analyzes the distribution of visitors in the main commercial sectors of the Manta canton during the year 2024, focusing on the proportions of visitors' origins from different parishes. The research covers five key sectors: Nuevo Tarqui, Calle 13, Los Esteros, Jocay, and El Palmar, utilizing a non-probabilistic sampling design for data collection. The study employed a quantitative and exploratory approach, using structured surveys to gather data on visitors. The study population includes individuals who visit the commercial sectors, with the sample intentionally selected on different days and times to ensure representativeness. Data were collected from a total of 730 visitors, with a specific distribution of parishes. Excel was used for digitizing and tabulating the survey data, while statistical programs such as SPSS and R Studio were used for data treatment and analysis. The results revealed that visitors from 7 different parishes and/or cantons visited the Nuevo Tarqui sector (one of the most commercially representative areas of Manta), with the majority of visitors coming from the Eloy Alfaro parish (34.8%). Several determinants influence the level of attendance in terms of commercial activities, including urban mobility, behaviors, and characteristics of the social group conglomerate, among others, all of which are interrelated.
