Abstract: The present research project was carried out with the purpose of demonstrating whether burnout syndrome influences the satisfaction of workers in the municipality of cantón Jaramijó. The research was based on a quantitative approach of descriptive/correlational scope and had a population of 60 people. To collect the information, the survey technique was used through a questionnaire of 26 questions determining burnout syndrome, such as emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and personal fulfillment, in order to know the level of job satisfaction. The results obtained indicate that 41.8% (23 workers) presented burnout in the work environment almost always, while 29.1% (16 workers) expressed occasional job satisfaction. It is important to highlight that workers consider it necessary to focus on improving aspects related to burnout to feel more satisfied in their work. In conclusion, the results of the survey analysis were used as a tool to promote improvement in mental health and labor recognition in the municipality of cantón Jaramijó. An action plan was proposed for the Human Resources area of the municipality's administration, which will be responsible for implementing the Comprehensive Wellness and Professional Development Program for municipal workers, in order to reduce burnout and increase the level of job satisfaction.
