Abstract: In Ecuador, SUS630 stainless steel material is generally used in the propulsion shaft system for high-speed vessels. Unfortunately, pitting corrosion is a major factor in affecting the fatigue life cycle of SUS630 stainless steel alloy. In this study, through a life cycle prediction model of residual fatigue and reliability, a life reliability analysis model is planned to be established under the condition of pitting corrosion for the propulsion shaft system of high-speed vessels. usefulness of high-speed ship propulsion shafts considering corrosion and fatigue failure using the chemical immersion method of accelerated testing and environmental testing respectively. From the results of the pitting corrosion test, it was established that the growth trend of the pitting corrosion rate of SUS630 stainless steel is exponential; From the results of the rotational fatigue test, it was concluded that when pitting corrosion occurs, its residual fatigue life is only 10 times greater than the normal fatigue life 20%. It was established that torsional vibration is the main factor that causes damage to the axles; In addition, from the results of the analysis of shaft reliability examples, it was found that for shafts made of SUS 630 material, torsional vibration has a significant impact on reliability.
