Abstract

The purpose of this work is to present the construction process of a test bench for outboard motors, with the fundamental purpose of addressing the need to promote experimental activities in the Maritime Engineering career that complement the theoretical training of students. To do this, the main concepts related to the topic of study are presented, the operational model that will be carried out is determined, the materials, technical specifications, plans and measurements required for the construction of the test bench are indicated. Subsequently, the procedure for cutting and welding the structure, metal sheets and installation of tempered glass is described. Finally, tests were performed with an outboard engine on the bench, where the operation of the injection, combustion and ignition systems were verified, as well as fuel consumption, lubrication, current measurement with a multimeter and waves with an oscilloscope, thus demonstrating its operability.
