Relevancia de los cuidados de enfermería en pacientes con complicaciones nefrológicas asociadas a la diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

The present research analyzes the relevance of nursing care in patients with nephrological complications associated with Diabetes Mellitus, as a public health problem that must be treated, considering the factors that can explain its current prevalence such as rapid growth and aging of the population, high urbanization, low educational level, greater access to high-calorie diets, sedentary lifestyle, among others. The main objective was to determine the relevance of nursing care through literature review to reduce nephrological complications in patients with diabetes mellitus. For this, the bibliographic review methodology was used, they were obtained from databases or scientific journals such as: Scielo, Dialnet, Medigraphic, Redalyc, Science, etc. The result was that the years with the most publications were 2021 and 2022 with 10 articles from Ecuador corresponding to 28%, Cuba with 7 articles corresponding to 19%, referring to the most frequent nephrological complications associated with Diabetes Mellitus, 25 % corresponds to high blood pressure, 22% corresponds to kidney damage, in addition to the fact that nursing care is of utmost importance in the intervention of patients with this pathology, in terms of the nursing role in these cases, 33% of the articles studied corresponds to the investigative type intervention, 28% corresponds to direct care. Conclusion: the main care that patients with nephrological diseases associated with diabetes mellitus should take are the treatment and control of diabetes and high blood pressure, including diet, lifestyle changes, exercise and medications. prescribed.
