Abstract: | Occupational Therapy addresses complex issues related to the individual's occupation and performance, which makes it a tool of great impact in the treatment and rehabilitation of oncological patients. In the case of breast cancer, also known as breast carcinoma, this specialty plays a crucial role in facilitating adaptation to the physical and mental changes associated with cancer treatment, such as loss of motor ski lis, fatigue, pain and physical discomfort. Various studies compiled in databases such as PubMed, Scielo, Dialnet, Latindex and Google Scholar have shown significant improvements in the overall quality of life of patients, in broad physical, emotional, cognitive and social aspects, after the implementation of OT programs .. Occupational therapy not only improves patients' occupational performance, but also contributes significantly to their comprehensive well-being at ali stages of the disease. Innovative and strategic therapeutic methods have been identified that include Comprehensive Occupational Therapy Treatment, exercise-based interventions, conceptual models to facilitate return to work, complementary techniques such as taping, and telemedicine care approaches. In conclusion, Occupational Therapy proves to be a fundamental intervention in the rehabilitation of patients with breast cancer, offering a positive impact on their quality of life and their ability to face the physical and emotional challenges of the disease and its treatment. |
