Abstract: The research project titled "Occupational Performance and the Impact of Virtual Play on Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders" looked at the effect of virtual play on children with ASO. ASO is defined as neurodevelopmental conditions that affect communication, social interaction, and patterns of behavior and interests from childhood. The prevalence of ASD increased, from in 36 children in 2018 to in 44 today. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2023). Technology such as virtual reality, augmented reality and video garnes are present in our lives, investigating their potential to contribute to children with ASD in terms of cognitive and social development. The general objective focused on analyzing the impact of virtual games on the occupational performance of children with ASD. A descriptive and qualitative methodology was addressed, of which 54 scientific articles were selected, 20 studies were selected.That is why it was concluded that new technologies are a great therapeutic support for professionals, especially the Occupational Therapist because it provides the necessary tools and resources such as the virtual game that through it irnproves occupational performance, adaptive behaviors and social participation between family and children with ASD. It was recommended that the Occupational Therapist should select virtual games carefully, with a therapeutic approach, adapting them to the needs, abilities, abilities and individual interests of the child with ASD.
Description: El proyecto de investigación titulado "Desempeño ocupacional y el impacto del juego virtual en niños con trastornos del espectro autista" analizó el efecto del juego virtual en niños con TEA. Definiéndose al TEA como condiciones del neurodesarrollo que afectan la comunicación, la interacción social, y los patrones de comportamiento e intereses desde la infancia.
