La arteterapia como medio terapéutico en el envejecimiento patológico.

Abstract

The present systematic review explores art therapy as a therapeutic means in pathological aging, focusing on demonstrating its effectiveness and how this therapy influences the guality of life of older adults and even what its benefits are on a mental and physical level. The global increase in the population of older adults with chronic illnesses and disabilities presents significant challenges to well-being and therapeutic treatment. Art therapy, through modalities such as painting, dance and theater, is positioned as an innovative strategy that promotes personal expression and social interaction, complementing conventional approaches. An exhaustive search and synthesis of relevant studies was carried out in acadernic data bases such as Google Scholar, Latindex, Dialnet, Elsevier and Scielo, with predefined criteria for data se]ection and analysis based on what is stipulated in the Prisma Guide. The results show consistent improvements in the emotíonal well-being and functionality of older adults. In conclusion, this study highJights the transformative potential of art therapy in the comprehensive treatment of pathological older adults, suggesting its systematic integration into occupational therapy programs to optimíze health outcomes and guality of life.
