Abstract: Geriatric caregivers play a fundamental role in the wellbeing and quality of life of older adults. The main objective of this study was to analyze the ergonomic risks associated with the daily activities performed by these caregivers. Often, nonprofessional caregivers provide support in daily tasks and basic medical care, facing ergonomic risks such as improper postures and excessive efforts when handling loads. The work methodology was based on the search for various sources of information, including bibliographic and documentary reviews of magazines, research articles, theses, and reports, and in this way arrived at the execution of the project presented. During the search, it was confirmed that the tasks that most expose the geriatric caregiver are forced postures, manual manipulation of loads, and repetitive movements that generate the appearance of injuries in different parts of the body. Concluding that ergonomic risks can affect the health and well-being of caregivers; in addition, they can cause physical, emotional and psychological health problems; therefore, preventive measures must be established to avoid ergonomic risk such as training in Jifting and carrying techniques, use of assistive equipment, organization of the workspace, breaks and stretching exercises, regular ergonomic evaluation and adoption of work techniques sure.
