Abstract: Periapical lesion is the result of necrosis of the dental pulp, which is mainly diagnosed by injury to the alveolar bone, as a consequence of the continuous and permanent exposure of the dental pulp to bacteria. The body generates an inflammatory response to the presence of these antigens, in addition to generating a permanent immunological reaction of the periradicular tissues, consequently causing the development of periapical lesions in patients. There are several diagnostic methods, with conventional radiography being the most sensitive to identify this pathology. In addition, periapical dental surgery is the fundamental pillar of the treatment of this lesion, dental prophylaxis is important to prevent its development in patients. Objective: Identify periapical lesions related to cryogenic factors. Methodology: This research presents a bibliographic review design, whether academic or scientific, that allows the question to be answered and justified by searching for selected information. Results: The cariogenic factors causing periapical lesions are related to: female sex, adults and young people, posterior teeth, low dental education, high carbohydrate consumption and stress.
Description: La lesión periapical es el resultado de la necrosis de la pulpa dental, que se diagnostica principalmente por lesión del hueso alveolar, como consecuencia de la exposición continua y permanente de la pulpa dental a las bacterias.
