Abstract: | Due to the global Covid19 pandemic, trade has become key in the economic development of essential products for the residents of the city of Montecristi, which is why it was learned how this trade helps generate income. The objective of this degree work was to determine how the COVID-19 pandemic had an economic impact on the shops of the Central Market of the Canton of Montecristi, it was based on two variables under study, which allowed enhancing theoretical and practical knowledge Based on the bibliographical relevance related to the COVID-19 themes in the Economy of Commerce, the methodology used was a documentary and field investigation, accompanied by inductive, analytical and synthetic methods, observation techniques and the survey. The population was made up of 72 merchants, of whom 68 were surveyed since the remaining 4 could not be surveyed because some do not open their businesses out of fear, others died as a result of the pandemic, in addition to economic losses and debts produced by the reduction in sales. Likewise, it was learned that the COVID-19 pandemic had a negative impact, because this problem that directly affects businesses that are dedicated exclusively to the sale of their products to generate income and meet the basic needs of their families. |
