Abstract: | In the present investigation entitled “Social and Cultural Factors Contributing to Gender Violence in the Uleam, Coming from Rural Sectors of the Province of Manabí, Year 2024” it was important to mention that gender violence is a social phenomenon that affects millions of people around the world and constitutes a violation of fundamental human rights, the key informants were ten women and five men from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Law and Welfare of the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, the technique was the semi structured interview allowing to obtain detailed data on the perceptions of the participants, the questionnaire was used as the main instrument, in addition to this the inductive method and the experimental method were used. The results were that the main social factors that affect gender violence are identified as machismo and cultural norms, and factors such as economic inequality and lack of education are identified as the main causes of the problem, students emphasize that the consequences of violence are negative, some mention that the victims are emotionally scarred, which impacts their ability to relate to others and recover stability among the risk factors that influence gender violence in intimate partner relationships, jealousy and excessive control are identified as recurrent factors. It is concluded that gender violence, in recent years, continues to be a complex social challenge that requires a multidisciplinary approach and a profound cultural change. As society evolves, it is essential to continue working on the deconstruction of gender stereotypes and the promotion of effective equality, both in the home and in society. |
