Las políticas públicas en la prevención del consumo de drogas en adolescentes, cantón Chone, año 2024.

Abstract

Drug use in adolescents is a public health problem that affects the Chone Canton. This research aims to evaluate the impact of public policies to prevent drug use in adolescents in said town. A review of the existing literature at a national and international level was carried out, as well as surveys and interviews aimed at high school and university students in Chone. The results indicate that, although there are prevention programs, 65% of adolescents are unaware of their existence and 45% do not perceive a reduction in drug consumption. Significant barriers were identified, such as lack of financial resources and limited visibility of the programs. These findings underscore the need to improve information dissemination and community involvement in prevention efforts. Recommendations include increasing funding and improving staff training.
