Padres consumidores de drogas y la afectación socioemocional en los hijos: experiencia de los Dece de las unidades educativas de la parroquia Los Esteros, cantón Manta, año 2024.

Abstract

The present project entitled "Drug Using Parents and the Socio-Emotional Impact on Their Children: Experience of the DECE of the Educational Units of the Los Esteros Parish, Manta Canton, Year 2024", analyzes the problem of drug use as a risk factor that directly or indirectly affects the social and emotional problems of children in the educational field. The purpose of the research was to find out what is the socio-emotional impact caused by those parents who consume psychoactive substances in students who attend the Educational Units of the Los Esteros Parish. The methodology used was a qualitative approach, with an epistemological-hermeneutical and phenomenological foundation, a descriptive-transversal method and as an information collection technique the interview applied to DECE professionals of the "Bahía de Manta", "Costa Azul", "12 de Octubre" and "Josefa Mendoza de Mora" Fiscal Educational Units. The results show that there are few cases of parents who consume substances, and the effects that these generate in students range from disinterest in academic studies, social isolation, low performance to shyness or aggressiveness, reaching the conclusion that not many cases of this problem were evident, however, it was determined that there is consumption of psychoactive substances by students from different educational institutions, therefore, it is essential to strengthen support and psychosocial interventions directed at families and students, developing different preventive activities to reduce socio-emotional effects on children.
