Abstract: The research project titled “Social Work and Mental Health in Migrant Families in the City of Manta, 2024” analyzes the impact of the migration process on the mental health of migrant families. Using a qualitative approach and grounded in phenomenological theory, this study seeks to understand the subjective experiences of this population, focusing on the emotional and social challenges they face during their adaptation to a new environment. The main factors studied include anxiety, stress, and other mental disorders associated with family separation, cultural and linguistic barriers, and economic difficulties. The conceptual framework highlights the ecological model, which allows for an analysis of the interactions between individuals, support networks, and the socioeconomic context, thereby addressing the complexities of the problem. The methodology employs interviews with migrant families and Social Work professionals, focusing on data categorization and analysis to identify critical factors affecting their well-being. The results underscore the importance of support networks and social interventions in fostering resilience and emotional well-being. The study suggests that public policies should be inclusive and sensitive to the needs of migrants, ensuring equitable access to basic and mental health services. It also proposes that social workers play a key role in mediation, prevention, and the promotion of social and cultural inclusion strategies. This comprehensive approach contributes to the development of practical and sustainable solutions to improve the quality of life for migrant families in Ecuador.
